A Croydon resident tries out Steps to the Future

What is it?

'Steps to the Future' is a good activity for a group which is just beginning to think about Imagine Croydon, or a group that only has time for one exercise but would like to do something a bit different.

This activity is designed to help a group to get in the mood to 'Imagine Croydon'– thinking about the big picture and the long term - whilst also giving people a structure to help define their hopes for the future and key ideas on how to achieve them.

By focusing on what things are like now, and then on how the group would like to see Croydon in the future, we can look at the 'steps' that would be taken to make this happen. You can use facts, anecdotes and materials from Croydon's past, included within the newspaper in the Imagine Croydon toolkit pack, and also on the wiki.

These 'Artefacts' will provide talking points for the group and show how far Croydon has come since the 1980s, encouraging people to be ambitious with their hopes for the future.
